As the youngest of four hyper-competitive siblings, Joe grew up having to find new ways to break through and be heard. He spends his day at Kennedy Communications much like he did when he was little – finding new ways to deliver strategic messages to the right people. But now, he’s fighting to reach the undecided voter, not mom.
Getting-Out-The-Vote for Senator Paul Wellstone was Joe’s first taste of politics. He hasn’t missed a GOTV operation since. At 19, he joined the campaign of Senator Amy Klobuchar and ran a nationally recognized youth turnout operation. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from George Washington University with Special Honors in Political Communication. Since then he’s taken on an array of campaign roles, from field organizing to statewide advance and communications work.
As Kennedy Communications' Political Director, Joe studies effective campaign tactics and implements state-of-the-art strategies to bring a data-driven approach to our work. In 2011, his strategic advice helped Democrats capture control of the Montgomery County (PA) Board of Commissioners for the first time and retain majorities in the New Jersey Legislature despite a tough political climate.
A proud Minnesotan and avid biker, Joe misses the lakes, snow, ice, trails and music of Minneapolis. Out of the office, you can find him on his bike, rowing on the Anacostia river, finishing everyone's leftovers and annoying his friends almost as much as his siblings.
