For Andrew, it all started in his second grade classroom, when his teacher forced her inattentive class to watch the 1993 Presidential inauguration. Something definitely stuck, because four years (and one cross country move from Upstate New York to Washington State) later, Andrew’s mom let him play hooky to attend a rally for President Clinton’s re-election campaign. Now a Senior Associate at Kennedy Communications, Andrew still enjoys the thrill of campaigns, without having to get a tardy note from his mom. In his time at Kennedy, Andrew has helped execute direct mail campaigns and provided research services for candidates in over a half dozen states.
Andrew graduated cum laude from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY (yes, there is another school in Syracuse). While there he pestered administrators by starting his own student newspaper and organized students to become active in local Democratic politics. Andrew has spent countless hours in the field, going door-to-door for the New York Democratic Party and in Nashua, NH with Obama for America. After leaving New Hampshire, Andrew graduated from Cornell University with a Master’s of Public Administration. He didn’t completely leave the campaign trail though, volunteering his time to help run GOTV efforts in New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Florida for the Obama Campaign.
In a former life Andrew was set on becoming the next Bob Woodward – doing freelance work for a daily newspaper and interning at a free press organization in Arlington, VA. He also spent a summer in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, working at a small non-profit organization to help create a multi-ethnic educational institute.
When not politicking, Andrew can be found mourning another Buffalo Bills loss (it was a forward lateral…), watching the Yankees win World Series titles, or listening to Saturday NPR (dreaming that Lake Wobegon were his hometown).
